Grinnell Place Lofts
I just received an email from the popular website, Grinnell Place Lofts development, in Corktown. It's always been a popular image, and it's easy to see why. Who wouldn't want a place like that? The interior was done by McIntosh Poris Associates of Birmingham, Michigan.
The image is not new, but it is new to the website. Most of the attention I've received over the past few years has been for my project, 100 Abandoned Houses, so it's rather nice to be noticed for something else.

It’s always nice to find my work presented nicely on a high profile site that I like and respect. Therefore, I am excited to have been featured on NPR’s photoblog, The Picture Show.

Ski season is almost here...

Mt Evans Sunrise
While this is an older photo, it is what Mt Evans should look like very shortly. If you are a skier (or snowboarder), you can understand my excitement. This year's excitement is particularly high considering the sorry season we experienced last year
Beyond the fun of sliding around on frozen water, is the importance of filling up our water supplies. Last years low snow, followed by the driest, hottest, summer on record, has left the West in bad shape. We need water in any form, and the frozen kind is so much fun. So I hope we have a winter more along the lines of two years ago, when we broke all sorts of snowfall records...and I got to ski lots of powder.

I am in the tabloids...and it's not for photos of me in an embarrassing situation in Vegas, so I think it's a good thing. It's actually very nice. I'm happy to be in such a well read publication. I almost missed the opportunity too.
When my site, 100 Abandoned Houses went done a couple of months ago, I transferred the site to a different host. It was a late night affair...of course, and I did not reconfigure the email. I tested it, but the DNS propagation must not have finished, because my test worked. I never got another email to my address on the site after that.
While that should have been a red flag, I was busy, and didn't think much of it. When I figured it out the other day, I stumbled across several hundred emails I hadn't known existed (If you were one of those who emailed me there, I'll be getting back to you shortly). There was a message from The Daily Mail, asking if it would be alright to feature my project, 100 Abandoned Houses on their site. Fortunately they were still interested. Now my project is featured on The Daily Mail
Nothing New...

Mt Evans sunset
I haven't had time to keep up with the blog, so in the interest of putting something, really anything, up here, I'm posting another photo of Mt Evans.
I have no shortage of images of Mt Evans, and still haven't finished going through them all, even though I last photographed the mountain from this vantage point in November. The busyness of business, and life get in the way. A more than 100 year old house, and a two year old will do that, as anyone with experience in either or both can attest to.
